Description
Tapered chute liner plates for changing-width chute sections, hopper throats and material-flow transitions.
Tapered chute liner plates are custom wear-resistant plates with wedge, trapezoid or changing-width geometry. They are used where the chute or hopper narrows, widens or changes flow direction, and a rectangular liner would leave gaps or require unnecessary trimming on site.
EB Chuteliner quotes tapered liner plates according to drawings, worn liner photos, cardboard templates, site measurements or sample parts. The RFQ should define wide-end width, narrow-end width, length, thickness, angle, hole layout, material grade and installation method.
Why tapered liners?
Tapered liners help cover transition zones more closely and can reduce field cutting where chute geometry changes from wide to narrow or from one flow direction to another.
Drawing-based review
Because tapered plates are position-specific, part marks, orientation arrows and installation-side photos are useful before quotation and production.
Typical specification range
| Item | Typical RFQ detail | Buyer note |
|---|---|---|
| Material | NM400, NM450, NM500 or project-specified wear plate. | Confirm abrasion, impact and processing requirements. |
| Geometry | Wide-end width, narrow-end width, length, diagonal, angle and orientation. | Mark material-flow direction and installation side. |
| Thickness | Drawing-based thickness according to wear life and available clearance. | Confirm whether thickness is new target or worn existing thickness. |
| Fixing | Round holes, slotted holes, countersunk holes, plug weld holes or back-side studs. | Hole layout should be measured from reliable reference edges. |
| Inspection | Dimension check, angle check, hole layout photos, material record and packing photos. | Define inspection documents during RFQ. |
Where tapered chute liner plates are used
- Hopper throat liners where the opening narrows.
- Conveyor transfer point liners where chute width changes.
- Crusher feed chute transition plates.
- Wear zones near diverters, deflectors or changing material-flow direction.
- Segmented liner systems where trapezoid plates fill transition gaps.
RFQ checklist for tapered liner plates
| Send this information | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Drawing, template or marked photos | Confirms outline shape, orientation and installation side. |
| Wide-end and narrow-end dimensions | Defines taper direction and transition fit. |
| Length, diagonal or angle | Helps verify trapezoid geometry when drawings are incomplete. |
| Material grade and thickness | Used for quotation, processing feasibility and wear-life review. |
| Hole pattern or fixing method | Prevents site drilling, slotting or rework during shutdown. |
| Part marks and quantity | Supports packing, site identification and installation sequence. |
| Inspection requirements | Finished-part photos, dimension photos and packing photos can be agreed before production. |
Design notes before ordering
Tapered liners should be measured from reliable reference edges. If the old liner is badly worn, measure the chute structure or use a template instead of copying the worn outline exactly. Buyers should also mark which end is upstream, which side is the wear face and whether the plate is left-hand or right-hand.
