Description

Custom wear plates by drawing

Wear plates for mining equipment, supplied as processed steel panels or cast liner parts.

EB China reviews replacement wear plates for chutes, hoppers, feeders, crusher transitions and conveyor transfer points. Send the drawing, current material, worn-part photographs, operating duty and quantity so the manufacturable scope can be checked before quotation.

Drawing-based supply
Flat, profiled, bent or cast parts with specified holes, datums and inspection.
Material routes
NM wear plate, alloy steel, manganese steel and specified abrasion-resistant cast iron.
Buyer documentation
Agree traceability, hardness, dimensions, marking and packing evidence before production.

Typical mining equipment applications

Equipment area Typical wear evidence RFQ focus
Transfer and discharge chutes Sliding bands, impact craters, edge chipping or loose panels. Liner map, trajectory, drop height, backing and replacement sequence.
Hoppers and bins Wall thinning, outlet wear, build-up and local flow channels. Profile, opening, panel size, fixing access and flow direction.
Apron feeders and crusher transitions Gouging, impact, deformation and concentrated first-contact wear. Maximum lump, impact location, toughness and support.
Conveyor loading points Off-center wear, sidewall loss, protruding joints and bolt damage. Belt/loading geometry, joint direction, countersinks and modular layout.
Screens and ore-handling equipment Fine abrasion, vibration-related movement and uneven panel life. Vibration, fastener retention, panel mass and inspection interval.

Material options for quotation

Material family Where it may fit What the order must define
NM400 / NM450 / NM500 wear plate Drawing-based panels requiring cutting, drilling, countersinking or forming. Standard, complete grade, thickness, delivery condition, processing and certificate.
Alloy cast steel Cast geometry where a steel casting and tailored heat treatment are justified. Grade/chemistry, heat treatment, mechanical or hardness requirements and casting inspection.
Manganese steel Impact and gouging duty capable of producing useful work hardening. Grade, section, solution treatment, acceptance tests and actual impact evidence.
Ni-Hard-style or high-chromium white cast iron Severe abrasion with compatible impact, section, support and fixing. Correct alloy designation, heat treatment, hardness method/location and casting drawing.

Not sure which route fits? Use the seven-step mining wear-plate selection guide or the Ni-Hard versus NM comparison before finalizing the RFQ.

No universal service-life claim: material grade alone cannot predict liner life. Impact, particle properties, flow, backing, fixing, thickness and maintenance condition must be considered. Any field comparison should use equivalent positions and normalized operating exposure.

Processing and customization scope

  • cut-to-size flat and profiled wear plates;
  • drilled, slotted, keyhole or countersunk fixing features;
  • bent or curved panels where the selected plate and radius are compatible;
  • cast liner shapes with defined machining allowances and datums;
  • part numbering, orientation marks and packing by installation sequence;
  • dimensional and material documentation agreed in the purchase order.

Manufacturability depends on the selected material, thickness and geometry. Critical holes, bends, machined surfaces and tolerances should be identified on the drawing rather than left to a site sketch.

What EB China needs for a useful quotation

RFQ item Minimum useful information Why it matters
Drawing package General arrangement, liner map, individual drawing, revision and quantity. Separates equipment geometry from the replaceable part.
Operating duty Material, maximum lump, moisture, temperature, throughput, drop and flow direction. Distinguishes sliding abrasion from impact or gouging.
Existing result Current grade/thickness, installation date, service exposure and failure photographs. Provides a real baseline for material review.
Fixing and access Bolt/weld arrangement, rear access, countersink, lifting limit and shutdown sequence. Controls manufacture and replacement practicality.
Acceptance documents Certificate, hardness, dimensions, NDT if applicable, marking and packing. Prevents inspection requirements being added after manufacture.
Real EB China wear liner manufacturing and inspection photographs
Composite assembled from real EB China workshop photographs with layout and tonal adjustment only. The photographs show manufacturing and inspection context; they are not presented as a named customer project or a guaranteed material grade.

Common questions

Can you quote from a worn liner or site photograph?

Photographs and samples help identify the problem, but a controlled drawing or verified dimensions are normally required before production. Send the available evidence first; missing datums, holes or tolerances can then be identified.

Which NM grade should be used?

The answer depends on abrasion, impact, thickness, support and fabrication. NM500 is not automatically better than NM400 or NM450 when cracking, bending or processing controls the application.

Can cast and rolled plates be used in the same chute?

Yes, if the responsible engineer approves a zoned design. A cast abrasion liner may suit a controlled sliding zone while a tougher processed plate suits an impact or transition zone.

What service life can be guaranteed?

Service life cannot be responsibly guaranteed from a grade name alone. Use the current liner as a measured baseline and define how field performance will be compared.
