Description
Plug weld chute liner plates for flush, weld-on liner installation.
Plug weld chute liner plates are custom wear plates with prepared plug weld holes. They are used where a liner must be fixed directly to a chute, hopper or transfer point structure without exposed bolt heads. EB Chuteliner can quote plug weld liner plates according to drawings, sample plates, site measurements or worn liner photos.
Typical applications include mining transfer chutes, cement plant chutes, hoppers, aggregate handling equipment, coal handling systems and other bulk material flow zones where abrasion and impact shorten the service life of the base structure.
Common material options
NM400, NM450, NM500, rolled wear plate, high-chrome cast liner sections or other wear-resistant materials can be reviewed according to impact load, sliding abrasion, temperature and installation method.
Drawing-based processing
Cutting, drilling, plug weld holes, countersinking when required, bevels, segmentation, part marking and packing can be discussed according to the approved drawing revision.
Typical specification range
| Item | Typical RFQ information | Buyer note |
|---|---|---|
| Material | NM400 / NM450 / NM500 wear plate, cast alloy liner or project-specified grade. | Confirm abrasion, impact and weldability expectations before quotation. |
| Thickness | Common drawing-based range: 6-80 mm, depending on material and part size. | Send current thickness and available installation space. |
| Hole type | Plug weld holes, slotted holes, countersunk holes or mixed fixing details. | Provide hole diameter, pitch, edge distance and weld requirement. |
| Shape | Flat plate, segmented liner, trapezoid, curved layout by segments or custom profile. | Photos help when original drawings are incomplete. |
| Inspection | Dimensional check, hole position review, hardness check where applicable and packing photos. | Define required quality documents during RFQ. |
When plug weld holes are useful
Plug weld liner plates can be useful when the customer wants a flush liner surface, when bolt heads would interfere with material flow, or when the existing chute structure is designed for weld-on replacement liners. The design should consider welding access, heat input, base structure condition and future liner removal.
For some chutes, bolt-on liner plates or countersunk bolt wear plates may be easier to replace. For others, plug weld holes can provide a practical fixing method with fewer exposed fastening points. The best choice depends on site access, downtime plan, impact load and maintenance preference.
RFQ checklist for plug weld liner plates
| Send this information | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Drawing, sketch or worn plate photos | Confirms outline size, part shape and installation location. |
| Material handled | Ore, clinker, coal, limestone, aggregate or other material changes wear behavior. |
| Thickness and material grade | Used for wear life, weight, weldability and quotation. |
| Plug weld hole diameter and pattern | Controls drilling process and installation fit. |
| Quantity and drawing revision | Used for nesting, batch processing, inspection and packing. |
| Required quality documents | Material certificate, dimensional report, hardness check or packing photos can be prepared when specified. |
